    Louisville Chapter, University of Louisville

Triangle Fraternity, originally founded by 16 civil engineering students at the University of Illinois in 1907, is a unique social fraternity which limits its membership to students majoring in the fields of engineering, architecture, and science. Our purpose is to develop balanced men in these fields by providing an environment which fosters personal development and professional success. Nationally our fraternity has grown to over thirty chapters and we are continuing to grow and connect outstanding men with similar fields of study and career goals.

Brotherhood in Triangle has a lot to offer academically, socially, athletically, and professionally to aspiring men in challenging technical fields. We understand the balance between these and strive to attain a level of excellence in each of the areas while maintaining an environment where lifelong friendships can be formed. Since all our brothers have faced a similar path with their course of study, a valuable resource lies in the senior members’ ability to advise and mentor the younger members in the chapter. Maintaining a creditable scholastic record is a code of ethic of our fraternity and something we take seriously. Last semester Triangle earned a 3.19 cumulative average which placed second among the fraternities. Collectively, Triangle helps men set the stage for a successful academic journey throughout their college years.

There is much more to college life than just studying and homework. It is important to find a balance of fun activity and hard work in the classroom in order to stay motivated and not burn out. Triangle gives it’s membership many social outlets with the wide range of activities we participate in. Examples include brotherhood events, socials with sororities, football tailgates, road trips, formals, weekly chapter dinners, water balloon fights in the quad, hayrides, cookouts, and just hanging out together.

Intramural involvement at campus presents great opportunities for our brothers to have fun together and stay in shape while doing it. Triangle prides itself in that we participate in every intramural sport on campus. Last year we finished third in the overall fraternity competition. We also placed first in the canoe regatta (an intramural tradition here at the university) for a fourth straight year. Whether intramurals are your thing or not, the events are always exciting as brothers and friends are always there to watch and cheer us on.

The chapter stays involved on campus and in the community by setting our values into action. Nationally our fraternity has a partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Each semester we put our engineering prowess and eagerness to build into action and perform multiple projects with our philanthropy Habitat for Humanity.

The fraternity offers leadership opportunities and exposure to nearly any facet of campus life desired. Outside of the leadership opportunities present in our own organization, we also promote involvement in other organizations at the University. Many of our brothers hold prominent leadership positions across campus including the current Student Government Vice President of Academics and the Speed School Student Council President. Triangle provides a variety of academic and leadership scholarships to attend programs external to our local chapter, such as the Undergraduate Inter-Fraternity Institute and the Herbert Scobie Leadership School. Membership in Triangle is a life long journey and its professional and social networking opportunities are vast.

Triangle: The opportunity of a lifetime to make friends you’ll call brothers, the place you’ll grow into a balanced man, and the memory you’ll treasure most from your college years.
